Clinics & Services

nurseThe services we provide under the new doctors contract are listed below. All practices provide essential services and most, including this one, provide all the additional services.

Essential Services – for patients who are ill or who believe themselves to be ill with conditions from which recovery is generally expected, for the duration of that condition, including relevant health promotion advice and referral as appropriate. Including:-

General Management Of Patients Who Are Terminally Ill and Chronic Disease Management – Coronary Heart Disease, Diabetes, Hypertension, Stroke/TIA, Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Mental Illness, Cancer, Hypothyroidism, Epilepsy.

Additional Services - cervical screening, contraceptive services, vaccinations and immunisations, child health surveillance (baby clinic), maternity services (excluding intra partum care – childbirth), minor surgery procedures eg. Joint injections

Antenatal Services

This clinic is run on every Tuesday's between 9am to 1pm at Greenhill Medical Centre. Most of the antenatal care for the patients is provided by the community midwives. As soon as you know you are pregnant you can book an appointment with our practice nurse. After the initial consultation, nurse will direct you to our Midwife. Midwife will see you at home and make plan of your care and arrange for scans at the hospital. Most of the care will be done at the surgery but some may require hospital visits. 

Well Baby Clinic

Wednesday's between 11 am to 12 pm at Greenhill Medical Centre and between 10 to 11 am at Clase Surgery on alternate Thursday. This clinic is run by a doctor, the practice nurse and the health visitors. It is for advice, immunisations and developmental checks. Please do not bring children who are unwell to this clinic.

Diabetic Clinic

This clinic is for all diet or tablet controlled diabetics, is run by a doctor and the practice nurses. Patients are advised to attend at least once per year and will need to have fasting blood tests done 3 weeks before the clinic. Please contact reception for further information.

Minor Surgery

The doctors are able to do some minor surgical procedures in the minor surgery clinic like small excision of lumps, injecting some joints etc., Please contact the reception for any further information.

Family Planning

Doctors offer contraceptive advice during normal surgery hours. You can also book an appointment with our practice nurse.

Asthma Clinic

Practice nurses have had specialist training in asthma management and can help with advice about inhalers and lifestyle. All asthmatic patients, especially children should have asthma reviewed at least once a year.

Travel Clinic

For advice on immunisations and healthcare whilst abroad please make an appointment with the practice nurse. This appointment should be at least 8 weeks before your holiday.

Hypertension

The practice nurses will take blood pressure readings to help you and your doctor manage your hypertension. Please contact reception for further information or appointments.

Coronary Heart Disease

This clinic has been established to meet the requirements of the National Service Framework for the treatment of these patients. It is run by a doctor and a nurse. Please contact reception for any appointments or information.

Spirometry Clinic

This clinic is run by our practice nurse for those with chronic respiratory problems. Please contact the reception for appointments.

Anticoagulation Clinic

This clinic is run by the practice nurse. This clinic is for all the patients who take warfarin. It is a contact service and you will be given your INR level during your appointment. Adjustments to your medication will be made before you leave.

Well Woman Clinic

This clinic is run by the practice nurse where she  gives advice for many women's problems and also about routine smears. Please contact the reception to book an appointment.

 Directed, national and local enhanced services are also available to patients but not all of these are provided by every surgery and some may be provided by the hospital sector.

This practice may treat patients from other surgeries as well as our own patients or you may be referred to another practice for the relevant service This Practice provides the following Directed, National and Local Enhanced services: -

Directed Enhanced Services

  • Provision of access within 24 hours to an appropriate primary healthcare professional e.g. doctor, nurse, health visitor, counsellor.
  • Influenza immunisation for the elderly (over 50) and patients in “at risk” groups
  • Childhood immunisations
  • Minor Surgery - Injection of muscles tendons and joints Invasive procedures. 

Local Enhanced Services Other Services

  • Stress Counselling Care of Asylum Seekers
